A curated escape built around the river - and the region around it.
From the moment you turn off the highway, something shifts. The valley opens up, the pace drops, and by the time you arrive at Jarabin the rest of the world feels genuinely far away. The Borambola VIII Sparkling Brut is already chilled in the tent. The Jarabin Premium Cut is in the cool box. The kayaks are on the bank. You haven't had to organise a single thing — and you won't need to.
This is the Southern Tablelands at its most unhurried. A place where a morning walk becomes an hour on the water, and an hour on the water becomes the whole afternoon. Where dinner around the Weber — the fire going, a good glass open, no particular reason to hurry — feels like the only thing in the world worth doing. Where the outdoor bath under a full sky is not a luxury but a given.
But the river is just where it starts. Beyond Jarabin, the region is quietly extraordinary. Clonakilla — one of Australia's most celebrated wine estates — is only an hour up the road. Grazing Restaurant, tucked into Gundaroo village, turns a lunch stop into the kind of meal you talk about on the way home. The region is full of makers, growers, and cellar doors that reward the curious. We know all of them. If you want to explore, we'll point you exactly where to go.

HOW IT UNFOLDS
Your days, your way
Every stay is different. Here’s one way it might go.

If you're on a 3-night stay, your first stop isn't Jarabin. It's Grazing Restaurant in Gundaroo village. Your table is already booked. Order the bread. Order everything, actually. You're on holiday.
When you arrive at Jarabin the tent is ready. The Borambola VIII Sparkling Brut is chilled. The Grazing Box is open. The river is right there, doing what rivers do.
The afternoon is yours. Sit on the deck. Walk to the bank. Take a kayak out if the urge takes you — or don't. Nobody is keeping a schedule here.
As the light drops, get the Weber going. The Jarabin Premium Cut is in the cool box with everything you need alongside it. Open something good. Watch the fire. Look up at the sky and remember that it always looked like this — you just haven't seen it in a while.

There's no alarm. The morning basket arrives at the door — local bread, seasonal produce, something sweet — and the day begins at whatever pace you set.
The kayaks are on the bank. The river is calm in the morning, which is the best time to be on it. Paddle upstream for twenty minutes and you'll feel like you're the only people in the valley. Because you more or less are.
If you want to venture further, Clonakilla is an hour up the road. One of Australia's most celebrated wine estates, and one of the most unhurried cellar door experiences you'll find anywhere. Go for a tasting, stay for a bottle on the lawn, lose track of an hour or two. We can book it for you — just ask.
Back at camp by late afternoon. Fill the outdoor bath. This is not a small bathtub — it's a proper outdoor soak, open to the sky, warm enough to stay in until the stars come out. Bring a glass. Stay as long as you like.
Dinner tonight is whatever you feel like. We can suggest, arrange, or simply leave you to the quiet if that's what the evening calls for.

A slow morning. The last bit of the basket. The last coffee on the deck with the river in front of you and nothing particular to do.
If there's more of the region you want to see — a cellar door you didn't get to, a drive through the valley, a stop at Blackwattle Alpaca Farm on the trip home — today is the day for it. Checkout isn't until late morning, so there's no rush.
Most guests find themselves sitting longer than they planned. Packing slower than expected. Taking one last walk to the bank before the car gets loaded.
